From Vision to Leadership: Meet Brady Neuhart, Die Co.’s New GM

When Brady Neuhart stepped into his role as General Manager of Die Co. months ago, the path here was more than just a career move, it was a return to what he calls the “heartbeat” of his region. Growing up in southeastern Ohio, Brady was raised around manufacturing and the blue-collar workforce; the people who build, produce, and provide for their families. Brady explains, “Manufacturing is in my blood. It is the heartbeat of my home region of Southeastern Ohio. The plant floor, blue collar workers are who I was raised by and grew up with. The fruits of their labor drive our country, states, and cities forward. All the sweat from their brow and work through their hands isn’t for personal gain, but out of love for their families.” That deep respect for people and purpose has shaped Brady’s approach to leadership and his passion for building strong, empowered teams.

A Career Rooted in Curiosity and Hands-On Experience

Brady’s journey in manufacturing began early. He worked on the shop floor of a commercial diesel plant while in high school, studied Systems Engineering at Otterbein University, and completed more than a year of hands-on internships in manufacturing before graduation. His first role after college was as an automation design engineer in Columbus, where he describes his experience as “living the show How It’s Made.”

When his wife became pregnant with their first child, Brady and his family relocated closer to home in Northeast Ohio. That’s when he was introduced to Fastener Industries and learned about the unique culture of employee ownership. “It was life-changing,” he said. “Learning what it means to be an owner, not just an employee, was exciting. Everyone has a greater responsibility and a shared investment in the company’s success.”

Leading with Empathy and Empowerment

Brady believes great leadership starts with listening. When he first joined Die Co., he asked employees what he could do to make their jobs easier. “I got a lot of blank stares at first,” he recalled with a smile. “So I reworded it and asked, ‘What’s something that’s annoying to do every day?’ Once they started thinking about it that way, the ideas came pouring in.” His approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and accountability. “If you take the traditional organizational chart and flip it upside down, that’s how I see leadership,” he said. “My job is to support the team, empower them to make decisions, and train them to think like owners, not just operators.”

Building a Culture of Ownership

Die Co. recently became an employee-owned company, and Brady sees his role as helping to build on that foundation. “The team already had a strong structure for voicing opinions and sharing ideas,” he said. “I just want to amplify that, leverage the strengths of the people we already have, and help break through barriers that limit growth.” Transforming the company’s culture into one of true ownership is a key priority for Brady. “When people feel heard, trusted, and empowered, they take more pride in their work,” he explained. “That’s what employee ownership is all about.”

Navigating the Industry and Looking Ahead

Brady keeps a close eye on industry trends, particularly steel pricing and supply chain shifts. “There are both opportunities and challenges,” he said. “Tariffs and domestic sourcing create chances for growth, but costs and tooling investments can still be hurdles. The key is finding innovative ways to stay competitive while maintaining the quality and service our customers rely on.” He also notes the growing demand for Die Co.’s products in data centers and infrastructure. “It’s exciting to see how our work connects to global technology and expansion,” he added.

Family, Motivation, and Mentorship

Outside of work, Brady is a devoted husband and father. He and his wife, Jessica, have two young children, Lucy and Benjamin. “They’re my motivation for everything I do,” he said. “Lucy loves figure skating and horseback riding, and Benjamin will soon follow in her footsteps doing similar things. Spending time with them keeps everything in perspective.”

Brady credits one of his mentors, Brian Meyers of JCR Offroad, for influencing his leadership style. “He built a company with a great culture by lifting employees up and caring about their lives outside of work,” Brady said. “That’s the kind of leader I strive to be.”

If Brady could have a superpower, it would be the ability to “snap his fingers and get people where they want to be in life.” That vision captures his purpose perfectly; helping people grow, both personally and professionally, so they can reach their full potential.

More on Standoffs

Available in both blind-thread and through-thread styles, self-clinching standoffs can accommodate a variety of design requirements including applications where a flush outer surface is needed. They are also offered in steel, stainless steel, and aluminum to support a wide range of material and performance needs. The steel standoffs can be installed into steel or aluminum panels with a maximum hardness of HRB 80. The stainless steel standoffs can be installed into steel or aluminum panels with a maximum hardness of HRB 70 or less.

Self-clinching standoffs provide a low installation cost and a strong reusable thread in sheets as thin as .040” thick. Clinch standoffs eliminate the possibility of loose hardware in the assembly, which is particularly important for applications such as electronic enclosures and cabinetry.
Self-clinching standoffs provide excellent push-out and torque-out values that meet or exceed industry standards. The design allows the clinch standoff to retain its dimensional integrity during the clinch process. Unlike a swage fastener or rivet, clinch standoffs do not deform around the panel while maintaining REACH and RoHS compliance.

Self-Clinching Threaded Standoffs

CFSO self-clinching standoffs are designed for quick and simple installation into drilled or punched holes using a standard press. Once installed, they become permanently attached to the sheet metal and are commonly used to provide spacing in multi-panel assemblies. The unthreaded hole allows threaded studs to pass through the spacer to lower assembly levels.

Blind-threaded standoffs are ideal for applications requiring a smooth outer appearance on the enclosure exterior. Available in steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, these standoffs provide strong reusable threads in sheets as thin as .040” thick while maintaining a clean finished appearance.

Self-Clinching Unthreaded Thru-Hole Standoffs

Thru-hole standoffs provide an efficient way to stack panels and components within thin metal enclosures. Available in both inch and metric sizes, these standoffs offer a low-cost installation solution while allowing components to be securely spaced in sheets as thin as .040” thick.

Self-Clinching Spring Top Standoffs

Spring top standoffs help reduce assembly and disassembly time in electronic enclosures through a snap-on, snap-off design. Their spring-action post allows for quick attachment and removal while eliminating loose hardware. The Captive Fastener brand of spring top standoffs provide an excellent method of reducing assembly and disassembly time in an electronic enclosure. The cross slotted spring action post, provides quick attachment and removal with a simple snap on and off, which both speeds up assembly time and eliminates loose hardware. These unique fasteners are available in steel, aluminum, and 400 series heat treated stainless steel. The CFSSA, CFSSS, and CFSSC series are available in assorted lengths to fit the particular need in the chosen design. The CFSSA series (aluminum) are generally supplied in the plain finish. The CFSSS (steel) series are normally supplied in zinc clear to ASTM B633 and the CFSSC (stainless) are provided passivated to ASTM A967. These fasteners are available in both inch and metric dimensions.

Self-Clinching Slide Top Standoffs

Captive Fastener brand of slide top self clinching standoffs (CFSKC Series) provide a solution where design engineers need to space panels and PC Boards in an enclosure that can be quickly attached and removed with a simple sliding motion. The slide top standoffs are available in stainless steel and are passivated to ASTM A967. The self clinching slide top standoffs provide a low cost of installation and provide a permanently attached reusable means of attaching and removing panels and or PC boards. They greatly reduce the assembly time and provide substantial cost savings in labor costs. They can also be installed into panels as thin as .040” thick. For the self clinching slide top standoffs to work, they must be installed properly. The fasteners must be sufficiently harder than the panels into which they will be installed. The stainless steel slide top standoffs can be installed into steel or aluminum panels with a maximum hardness of HRB 70.

Self-Clinching Thin Sheet Metal Standoffs

Self-clinching standoffs for very thin sheets provide a solution where design engineers need to space panels and components in metal enclosures that are as thin as .025” / .63mm thick. The standoffs are available in steel, stainless steel, and aluminum depending on the needs of the engineer. The standoffs are available in both blind thread, where the design calls for the standoff to be installed in the exterior of the enclosure, and a smooth outer appearance is required and are also available in a through hole design. They provide a low cost of installation and provide a strong reusable thread in sheets as thin as .025” /.63mm thick. For the self-clinching standoffs to be installed properly, the fasteners must be sufficiently harder than the panels into which they will be installed. The CFT steel non heat treated standoffs can be installed into steel or aluminum panels with a maximum hardness of HRB 60. The CFTS series of stainless steel standoffs can be installed into steel or aluminum panels with a maximum hardness of HRB 70 or less. The CFTA series of aluminum standoffs can be installed into panels with a maximum hardness of HRB 50 or less.

Self-Clinching Grounding Standoffs

Self-clinching grounding standoffs provide a solution where design engineers need to space panels and components in their metal enclosures and they provide a ground for PC Boards in the assembly. The serrated teeth on the tips of the standoffs assure an excellent ground with PC board circuitry and eliminate the need for serrated or star washers. The standoffs are available in stainless steel and aluminum depending on the needs of the engineer. The standoffs are available in a through hole threaded design and they are available in both inch and metric thread. They provide a low cost of installation and provide a strong reusable thread in sheets as thin as .040” thick. For the self-clinching standoffs to be installed properly, the fasteners must be sufficiently harder than the panels into which they will be installed. The stainless steel standoffs can be installed into steel or aluminum panels with a maximum hardness of HRB 70 or less and the aluminum fasteners can be installed into panels with a maximum hardness of HRB 50.

Miniature Self-Clinching Standoffs

Self-clinching miniature standoffs provide a solution where design engineers need to space panels and components in their metal enclosures where there is limited space in the design. The fasteners are often used for securing D-sub connectors to enclosure backplanes and to provide a flush mounting surface for RFI/EMI gaskets. They are available in steel and stainless steel, depending on the needs of the engineer. The standoffs are available in a through hole design. They provide a low cost of installation and provide a strong reusable thread in sheets as thin as .037” thick. For the self-clinching standoffs to be installed properly, the fasteners must be sufficiently harder than the panels into which they will be installed. The CF40 series steel standoffs can be installed into steel or aluminum panels with a maximum hardness of HRB 80. The CF40S stainless steel standoffs can be installed into steel or aluminum panels with a maximum hardness of HRB 70 or less.

Concealed Head Self-Clinching Standoffs

Self-clinching concealed head standoffs offer an excellent solution that provide strong reusable threads that provide a totally unblemished exterior of the enclosure. The concealed head standoffs are permanently mounted in thin metal sheets as thin as .062” / 1.6mm thick. Since they are installed into a blind milled hole using a hollow punch and solid anvil, they provide a cosmetically appealing mount that is totally undetectable on the outside of the unit. After installation, the self-clinching standoff is captivated in the panel. Concealed head standoffs are often used in applications such as gaming equipment and other applications where the cosmetic appearance of the unit is extremely important. When installing the mating fastener, no tool is required to prevent the self-clinching stud from rotating in the panel, since the fastener has become an integral part of the assembly. The fasteners provide a low cost of installation and are easily installed using a press that supplies the squeezing force required to properly seat the fastener. The standoffs allow for the stacking and spacing of different components and/or PC boards in an electronic enclosure. 

Self-Clinching Male Standoffs

CFMS standoffs provide a permanently captivated fastener with a reusable threaded post to mount PC boards and other components in electronic displays. The unique part is available in heat-treated and zinc plated steel or passivated stainless steel and can be installed into metal sheets as thin as .050 in (1.27 mm) thick.
